Re: ProDOS partition on MAC SCSI
The reason some Macs see the ProDos partitions is most likely that
theyre running later system software. Starting with System 7.5 they
included a Control Panel called PC exchange which wont work with
earlier System software in case you thought of trying that.
System 7.5 will run on a Mac Plus and is free now, however it does
use a lot of RAM. Its been a while but I think it was around 2 - 2.5 mb
which wouldnt leave a lot for applications. You could always give it a
try and if neccessary go back to System 7. It shouldnt be hard to find
someone to do the install on your HD.
A less likely possibility is they have some type of third party software.
Another possibility way to go is System 7.1 came with a program called
Apple File Exchange on its Tidbits disk. This is a less than user friendly
program. Ive used it to move files from ProDos floppies to HFS floppies
and HDs. I dont know if itll work with System 7.0 or ProDos HDs.
What part of Manitoba are you in?
