ProDOS partition on MAC SCSI
How does one make a Macintosh recognize a ProDOS partitition on a an
external SCSI hard drive?
I have a 300 Mb external SCSI hard drive partitioned with a 32 Mb ProDOS
partitition and the rest as an HFS Mac partition. The drive itself was not
originally Mac but is installed in the case of an old "zero footprint"
drive. SCSI is SCSI isn't it? I ins
talled GS/OS 6.0.1 on the ProDOS partition by connecting the drive to my
IIGS which has a RamFast SCSI card. I installed Mac/OS 7.0 on the HFS
portion by connecting the drive to a Mac Plus. My ultimate goal is to use
the drive as a server from which a str
ing of IIGS Rom 03's will boot.
The Plus boots from the drive but does not recognize the ProDOS partition,
nor does it recognize ProDOS 3.5" floppies. When I connect the drive to
other Macs some recognize the ProDOS partition and floppies while others
don't. I can't find anything throu
gh their Control Panels or anything else to tell me why some do and some
don't. I hope someone knows the answer to this quandary.
