Re: Request for Info on DiskQuik from Beagle Bros.

Does anyone know how to make DQ create a larger disk? I
have well over a Meg of ram that I would like to use. I'd
like it as large as DOS33 supports. (I have forgotten the
volume size limitation.)

Most of the required information is on the disk.

Well let me see here... On a 128k AppleII, DQ sets up a
slot 3 RAM disk with about 58k of storage then modifies the
RWTS to allow access to it. Because it uses a modified
DOS33 RWTS, you must use FID to copy files to and from the
RAM disk. Most commercial utilities such as CopyII+ do not
recognize the DQ RAM disk because they have their own RWTS.
(Of course I have a hacked CopyII+ that uses the RWTS in
memory, so I use that instead when I am copying DOS33 files
around.)

Utilities included allow you to automatically load programs
into the RAM disk for speed. It' fun to play some of the
older games (mostly hacked) and not have to wait for long
load delays between screens.
