Invasion of the collectors?

Are Apple 2 computers & accessories becoming collectibles, or what? Many 
of the entries on E-bay identify stuff as collectible, or rare. What's 
more, some of the items are going for suprisingly high prices. Man! If the 
collectors get interested in Apple 2 stuff, prices will shoot through the 
roof, and it will cost a mint to keep our machines running!
