Well, Syndicomm I believe, does get paid to manage the Apple II and Mac
forums on Delphi.
The more Apple II users they sign up, (and Mac also), the better off
they probably are. It also likely does not cost Syndicomm anything
to keep the files on Delphi.
And, from reading on Delphi, the librarians are often quite busy with
real lives and don't have enough time to transfer the stuff they want
from Genie to Delphi, what make you think they should satisfy your
whims first.
I'd also imagine that most of the archives are available from other
places. And with files being right in the Delphi system, with the
offline readers for Delphi, everything can be automated. This is
probably really handy for people who only have Delphi to access the
net. Downloading from Delphi can be one step, going through the
internet necessarily wouldn't be.
