The reclassification announcement was made in conjunction with Juiced.GS in
the December 1998 issue (Vol. 3, Issue 4). I began working with Michael on
getting this cool program reclassified last summer, and those efforts finally
bore fruit last fall.

But this was more than JUST a reclassification announcement. It also includes
an upgrade in version number from v1.0 to v1.1b1. The upgrade, according to
Michael, produces a significant speed increase over the original release.
There are also some program fixes included.

The reason I haven't posted a lot about this here, or anywhere else for that
matter, is because I've been working with my good friend and Apple II
colleague Gareth Jones in getting the A3D manuals converted to disk. As those
of you familiar with A3D already know, this program is highly sophisticated
and complex. Without the excellent tutorial and reference manuals, a new user
would find this program extremely difficult, if not impossible, to use.

Michael did provide me with all the manual files, in both Teach and
GraphicWriter III format. The only thing I don't have are the screen shots
from the manuals, but we're working on that. :-)

Gareth Jones devoted a lot of time and effort this winter to converting the
reference manual from Teach files to !Help! files. This is really cool,
because this allows users to access the reference manual from !Help! NDA
(freeware from Seven Hills).

So, we are very close to being able to distribute the manual files along with
the program disks. I will let everyone know when that phase of the project is
finished.

Meanwhile, if you would like to obtain the program package, it is available in
from Juiced.GS for $12 in the U.S., Canada or Mexico ($15 elsewhere), shipping
included. It includes four disks. If you would also like the manuals disk when
it becomes available, add another $3 ($5 overseas).

Willie and I have discussed this already, and will undoubtedly be discussing
it in the future. :-)

BTW, Animasia 3D has been uploaded with permission to Genie's A2 Library and
is available for download. It will also be available soon from Delphi's A2
library for those who have full or Telnet accounts there. (Those are paid
accounts. The library is not available to users who use the free Web access.)

I plan to write extensively in Juiced.GS about Animasia 3D during 1999. If
you'd like to find out more about this highly acclaimed IIgs-specific
magazine, point your browser to:

A 1999 subscription is $14 in the U.S., Canada and Mexico ($20 elsewhere).
New subscribers for 1999 will get the final issue of 1998 FREE! That issue
has been called the best ever by a number of subscribers, and contains the
FREE version of GSoft BASIC on disk!!

The first 1999 issue will be published in about two weeks. We'd love to have
you all on board!
