Adding a SCSI drive to a Mac Quartro 610

Need help setting up a Mac Quatro 610 for my niece.

I have a 1Gig SCSI hard drive (from a PC) that I would like to install in
the MAC. I'm ok with the installation and addressing but I am told the MAC
requires you to run a special utility so the second drive will be
recognized.

Where can I get it (or can someone send me a copy)
Operating system is 7.1 (is it worth while to upgrade to later version)
