] [ gs Emulator with BASIC

We would like to use a home-made ][ GS BASIC program
 that requires printing, using Bernie ][ the Rescue.

Unfortunately when the PowerMac comes to the BASIC statement
500 PRINT CHR$(4); "PR#1"  
it does not understand "PR#1", and locks up.

Is there a workaround to access the Mac printer using a
][/gs BASIC printing program using the emulator?
