What type of IIgs do you have? Is it the original motherboard (ROM 01)
or the 1MB motherboard (ROM 3)? The original IIgs motherboard has a lot
of noise induced into the audio circuitry, which gets amplified by the
stereo card. The 1MB motherboard is a major improvement.

If you have a ROM 1, then there is probably nothing you can do about it,
short of getting hold of a ROM 3 IIgs.

The other cards in the system might be influencing things, especially if
your power supply is heavily loaded. If you have large power guzzling
cards like a TransWarp GS or PC Transporter, try removing them and see
if the noise is reduced. Getting a heavy-duty power supply might help.

If you have a ROM 3, then something may be wrong with your system, or
you might be overreacting. I have a SuperSonic in my ROM 3 and it
sounded reasonable last time I had it connected (not that I use it much,
mind you).
