Here's the procedure I use.

Windows puts the serial port in a different state then it is when I
start my computer. Just 'restarting in msdos mode' won't work. On mine
you have to

(1) Shut down the computer
(2) Turn it off with the power switch, leave it off for 10 seconds
(3) Turn on the computer. While booting at the words "starting windows
95..." push F8
(4) Select Safe Mode Command prompt only
(5) Start apple disk transfer


Long, but that's the only way I can get it to work on mine.
