FTP Downloading w/Lynx

I was wondering if anyone out there has tried to download from an FTP 
site using Lynx?  Everytime I try downloading a .SHK file it comes out 
damaged!  Text files copme out OK.  I tried setting the default filetype 
on Proterm 3.1 to binary and text but no difference.  When I download 
from a HTTP site downloading is a snap with no problems.

Ideas?
