Re: //gs questions
The slim beige color Mac 800K external 3.5" drive is for the Macintosh
---- it lacks the eject button.
BUT --- you can move the Sony 800K mechanism from that unit TO A PLATINUM
3.5" CASING and it _will work_ on a IIgs.
These choices: Send me $10 + $3 shipping and I will mail you an empty
3.5" platinum casing with its cable, and instructions on doing the
transplant. (The instructions are a reprint of my magazine article,
HACKING PLATINUM: MAC TO APPLE II).
A second choice is to ship me the beige Mac 800K drive and I will install
the mechanism into the platinum casing and will mail it back to you.
Cost: $10 plus $5 shipping (heavier weight to ship.}

: Yes, there is a required order to the drives daisy chained off of the disk
: port.
: Apple 3.5 drives must be fisrt, followed by UniDisk 3.5 drives, and then the
: 5.25 drives.
: If you have an Apple 800K drive that is not daisy chainable then you have a
: drive that was designed for the Mac and is not supported by the Apple IIs.
