Amusing ad, blast from the past

[Preface: I have this stack of RUN Magazines on the shelf behind me.
My first computer was a VIC=20 before I got into the Apple line. The
ad on the back cover of a couple of these is pretty amusing. It shows
a bunch of students lined up outside of a door labeled "Computer Lab"
looking really bored. The text is below. And no, I don't have the
capacity to scan the thing so don't even ask. :)]

With Commodore 128's instead of Apple //c's,
these kids would be on computers
               instead of in line.

Meet the Commodore 128(tm), the new personal computer already destined
to be at the head of its class. It not only outsmarts the Apple(r) //c
in price, it comes out way ahead in performance, because Commodore
intelligence goes beyond being able to put more students on computers
for less money.

There are a lot of things the Apple //c doesn't have at any price.
There's an expandable memory up to 512k for more versatility, with the
ability to run higher level business programs so a student can learn
more professional uses. There are also more commands for easier
programming, a numeric keypad that's a real necessity in math or
science classes, and compatability with over 3,000 programs designed
for the Commodore 64(tm).

And there's an exclusive school service agreement with RCA and over 600
independent service companies. Just call, toll-free, 800-247-9000.

For more intelligence at a price that makes sense, size up the
Commodore 128. It's one sure way to lower the high cost of a higher
education. COMMODORE 128= PERSONAL COMPUTER A Higher Intelligence

Pardon me while I laugh a whole bunch. A //c's memory goes up to 1
meg, there are a variety of "professional" programs for it, and it is
compatable with XX,XXX programs designed for the ][ through //e, plus
the Apple was in classrooms because of Apple's education sales plans!
In the 80's you never heard of a school with Commodores, or without
Apples. The C=128 machine is a good beast, yes, but.... :)

                                                << mushroom >>

 * 2qwk! 2.04 * 8" disks mean that you really need a new computer.
