When the 8 bit connection is perfected, then we will be able to
look forward to a IIGS specific graphical web browser. As discussed
before, there can be web pages with IIGS FORMAT graphics.
Unlike GIF or JPG, these need no conversion and no scaling, so
IIGS web pages can be viewed in real time. Sort of like HyperStudio
or HyperCard for the GS online. ;-)
Also, if such web sites use synthlab instead of MIDI and rsounds
instead of waves...
WHO SAYS A IIGS WEB BROWSER IS NOT TECHNICALLY
POSSIBLE. Of course it is possible. The only thing preventing
it is that GIF and JPG and WAV and MIDI are not IIGS native
formats and thus take an inordinately long time to convert. But
since a web site can easily be constructed with IIGS FORMAT
graphics, etc., graphical browsers can be written for the IIGS to
view such sites.
