But if savage300 doesn't like to cut his diskettes up with scissors,
there are other possibilities.
I recall "double sided" diskette being sold that had notches at both
sides. They also were more expensive... Don't remember what brand they
were, though. Doubt if they are still around.
There also used to be "diskette doublers", small devices which looked a
bit like perforators and which cut very neat notches in disks. These
things are out of sale too, I presume.
The last option is to remove the write-protect detector from the disk
drive, so that it can write any disks, whether they have been notched or
not. I'm not sure how this was done, but a friend of mine did it
(although I think I remember him saying that it couldn't be done on all
brands of disk drives).
