I've got a Really Dumb Question too.
Did you partition the drive?
You never mention anything about partitioning. Yet a 80 MB drive should
have at least 3 partitions, or you waste at least 48 MB! Unless it's
formatted using a file system that does support >32MB per volume, such
as HFS.
If that is the case, if it is a HFS drive, you can write and read it,
but not boot from it!
