A little history would be helpful.

For example how long had you been using your Microdrive before you began 
having problems with it? Were these problems intermittent at first then got 
worse or did your troubles start suddenly one day?

As far as reformatting and other stuff, I know that reactive micro is the 
distributor, but that doesn't mean you need to be "reactive" until you have 
an idea what the problem is:)

There must have been some event that precipitated the trouble...
