I'd have to look into it, Mitch, but I'm pretty sure you'll find that
it is either the higher speed of the IIgs that gives it that ability
or, more likely, that it is using the Ensoniq to produce the sound. 

You can produce some pretty crude sounds using the Ensoniq, as well as
some very nice ones.  :)
