Apple IIGS mice -- Mac-mouse compatibility?

My sister took her old Apple IIgs back home with her not too long ago, and
discovered that the mouse ball was missing. That, and the fact that the
mouse had been twitchy before made us think that buying a new one would
probably be the path of least effort here.
I looked at my own GS mouse, and saw a minidin-8 connector with 4 pins.
There's a Mac IIfx at work, and its mouse (an Apple Desktop Bus) has
an identical pin config. Some web research confirmed that some ADB mice
work fine on a GS. However, that word "some" bothers me.
I'm tempted to run down to CompUSA or Micro Center and pick up a generic
Mac mouse (since the Apple Desktop Bus 2 is around $75 -- way more than I
planned to spend). Are there any Mac mice known _not_ to work with the
GS's ADB port, and are there any cheapies out there that are considered good?
jeff. The Adesso Powermouse was around $19, though
I don't know if the GS will support its second
button at all. A couple more were around $25.
