I wouldn't waste money on a new mouse, just look for a bona fide Apple mouse
in the forsale groups. Or check your local used computer stores. I found one
store that doesn't handle Apple hardware as a rule, and hence gives away any
Apple stuff they get in essence. My last score there was a working AppleDesign
extended keyboard and mouse II in terrific condition for $1 each. I added on 
an AAUI<->twisted pair transceiver with cable and a five foot 25-50 SCSI cable
too for $1 each. I've picked the pockets of those ignoramuses several times 
like that.
