It seems like HP is borrowing some strategy from Apple, and releasing a
DeskJet of the month. Six months ago, it seemed as if there were at least
3 or 4 different DJs that cost less than $200, but now it seems that only
the 400L is available for less than $200.

At Circuit City. It even comes with a 30 day no questions asked money
back guarantee.
A friend of mine who has a PC started out with a DeskJet and recently got
an Epson Stylus. I asked him to print out the same graphic on each
printer, a scanned photo, that we downloaded...and I have to tell
you...there was NO comparison. The Epson really blew away the DeskJet. On
the PC. Using an Apple II analogy, It was as if the Stylus produced a
3200 color SHR, and the DJ spit out a single HiRes graphic. The
differences were incredibly dramatic.
That was why I got so excited when you first said that the Stylus worked
with the IIGS. I wanted one. But, then when I found that on the IIGS, it
only prints in grayscale, my excitement about the Stylus died on the
spot. That was my personal reaction.
As the publisher of Harmonie, I'll certainly tell people that Harmonie
let's you use an Epson Stylus, but it's also my responsibility to point
out its shortcoming when used on a IIGS. And, I imagine that most people
will conclude that no color is a major shortcoming.
Then again, color printing isn't all that important to me personally; I
use an HP LaserJet on my IIGS.
