That's the trouble Nathan... I have as yet found no evidence that Rubywand
is in fact a pirate. The only thing I ever saw him do was at worst mentioning
that a copy of Appleworks was at GMD to someone who posted a query. That
wasn't in any way trying to promote piracy, and he certainly hasn't been
trying to defend Asimov... just the other day I read an article by him
saying that if that communication program... something 3.1... was a
recent copy that Asimov should remove it.

So... can you provide any copys of articles where Rubywand is in fact
promoting piracy. I try to keep my mind open on all issues, so if there's
evidence that Rubywand is indeed a pirate, then I'll certainly side with
you.

Ummm... I thought it was Tom you claimed was lying about 4D sound? I didn't
think Rubywand had anything to do with it. His articles on abisonics,
however, were an interesting, but even then I don't recall him ever
stating that 1) the mods definitely contained abisonics, just that they
might, 2) that the MODS were deffinitely not pirated.

About mailing admins... namely Peter... was that Rubywand that said that?
I'll have to check back on previous artices, since I thought that was someone
else. Besides even in this day and age it's possible for emails to get
redirected, or for a spelling mistake in the email which causes the email
to bounce and the response deleted without realising what it was [I know
that I'm so used to bouncing mail because newsgroup messages I reply to are
SPAM protected, I usually delete the "undelivered mail" messages without
bother to reading them].

As for the ROM code bug, I'll have to definitely side against you here.
Despite the various claims and counterclaims made my impression of the whole
saga is this.... the team knew about the rom code bug at least a week
beforehand, they didn't do shit about it, they didn't bother to tell anyone
about it until bug reports started coming in. Therefore it's a bug in their
game. Pure and simple. Not because of faulty code, but because it propogated
a known OS bug through to the user when it could have been avoided.

Lets take an example... you drive along the road, and have a crash with
another car. The seat belts are ripped from their casing by the impact,
allowing you to slam through the windscreen and die. Could the seat-belt
manufacturer claim that it was all the fault of the other car? No... you
could rightly sue them (well, the family of the dead person could) for
failing to provide a robust seat-belt that worked in all conditions. It'd
be even worse for the manufacturer if it could be proved that they knew the
seat-belt would fail before they manufactured them, and still did nothing
about it. Understand?

In any case, there's a lot of regular readers who'll agree with you if you
just stop swearing for two minutes (including your petty Rubywanker petty
insults) and just post some damn evidence. I'm sure I'm not the only one
who starts killing your articles the moment they see "Rubywanker"... ho,
humm, they/we say, Nathan's just posting another rant.
