You should get the program ProTYPE and drag 'n drop any files you want to
port from Mac to Apple II. That'll make sure there are no resource forks and
set the file type to the proper value.

: For two years, I regularly used the same 3.5" disk on my GS at home and
: the PowerMacintoshes at my school with no problems. The Quadra 840av and
: 640av's didn't like my double density disks, however. Now I have a Mac
: at home and have had no problems "sneakerneting" a disk from the Mac to
: the GS, no matter which of the three OSs it is formatted for (ProDOS,
: HFS, or MS-DOS).

There is an article in Apple's tech info library which explains why AV boxes
can have problems with 800K disks. I use an 840av with a practically new
Sony floppy drive and I almost never see problems. Even less so when I use
800Ks after formatting 'em with the 840.

There is no such info concerning Powermacs, and I suspect that the lion's
share of people who have trouble are using high mileage, poorly maintained
drives on their IIgses. I bet they'd have better luck if they formatted the
disks on the Mac drives, so as to make sure that they're readable in them.
