I don't know about ProDOS CDs, but you can access Macintosh and
MS-DOS/Windows CDs. I have a brand new Mac networked to my IIGS via my
printer cable, and the IIGS has no problem handling it.

I don't think it will work with audio CDs, however. I asked about that
last year in high school, and the teacher told me that you can't play
audio CDs by remote. This was in an all Macnintosh network. They were
using ethernet, however.
