Re: Network with a Mac
A friend just gave me set of disks and manuals (in the original box!) for
System6 IIGS, and it brought up a very good idea:
Connect a IIgs (without a hard disk) to a Mac and boot from it!
BUT... It tells me to refer to a manual that I do not have to set it up...
Now the question is:
How easy is it to connect a GS and a MAC+ with only a straight through cable
to do file sharing.
I have seen the PhoneNET AppleTalk boxes (small in size) that plug into the
printer/modem port and transfer to a phone type (RJ-11?) plug.
Is there any way to network these two together using a plain AppleTalk type
cable (minidin-8?)?
And allow me to boot from the Mac?
I don't care about other ever hooking other computers to it, just this one.
Now know there is a way, I just need to know if I can use what I have or
need to find a special AppleTalk cable...
