That makes perfect sense, no? I wouldn't expect the mechs to be different
from the internals in Macs to any flavor of external.

I had a broken unidisk and did the swap too. It was so long ago that the
replacement 800K mech cost $20 and I thought I was doing all right. Recently
I have bought stacks of 800Ks for $1 a pop.
