It sounds to me like you have a scsi termination problem. Is the scanner the
only device connected to your scsi port? Does the scanner have a scsi
terminator
plugged into its other scsi port? What is the scanner's scsi device number? (It
should not be 0 or 7.) Do you have more than one scsi device connected to the
scsi port? Do all of them have different scsi IDs? Is the last one
terminated? In
the Macintosh Bible, read up on scsi ports and termination. That will help.
