Did you recently load up a new program? The first thing you should do is
restart, and hold down the 'shift' key. This disables the extensions. If
It starts up OK, then it is an extension conflict. If not, start up your
machine from your emergency disk, delete your finder prefs file in your
system:preferences folder on your HD. Restart from the HD. If it works,
it was a corrupted prefs file. ....
