You sure it wont work? I have some old 100 SCSI Quantum's lying around. I
put one in my Se/30 and one on my IIgs. Both worked fine, and the GS is
using an APPLE High Speed SCSI card. and BOOTS!

SCSI is SCSI I see no reason why the MAC 20 HD wont work, but you will have
to use and internal scsi card and put the MAC 20 HD in an external Case.

But The floppy port is not for hard drives, at least if it is, I didn't
know it was.
