If that's the solution you find optimal, fine. I have modems to spare so I
put one on each box. And naturally the one with the greater need for for
speed gets the faster modem.

If you take my statement at face value, you would see that I didn't try
very hard to make it work, and definitely did not say that it could not
be done. To infer otherwise would require not paying attention. In general,
how much effort do you put into making something work when you know you'll
never use it and you're just experimenting? I knew I'd never use my magneto
optical on any of my IIgses either, which is good since trying to get it
to work went nowhere at all.

Well good, that means that people who want to use a 28800 can do so. Is
there a problem?

That's great too, for people who want to use it. I simply find Netscape,
Fetch, telnet, etc, much easier. But you'll not get CD audio to come out
the internal speaker in a IIgs, I'll just bet ya.
