Concerning the AWGS v1.1 reclassification suggestions, I did a little 
research talking by phone to SQC and the Claris legal dept. It seems SQC
does not own AWGS, but simply licenced it for sales from Claris. SQC
does not sell the program any longer. They do have replacement disks 
only for it.

I'll make it clear - so none misunderstand! AppleWorks GS v1.1 (AWGS) is 
at this time still a commercial program. I've read in this newsgroup 
(but, have no direct confirmation) It's currently offered for public 
sale at $15, from Alltech Electronics Co. - Voice: (1-619-724-2404).

Both SQC and Claris are now aware that Alltech Electronics Co. 
reportedly sells AWGS v1.1 to the public for $15. In my telcon with the 
folks in the Claris legal Dept. they could not confirm or varify that 
AllTech actually had a licence to sell AWGS v1.1 for $15, nor could they 
confirm anything else concerning the program, at the time of our phone 
conversation.

I talked at length with the Claris legal dept. (1-408-987-7000) about 
the possibilities for reclassification of AWGS v1.1 as shareware. They 
said they would take the request into serious consideration, look into 
that option and let me know by email or return voice call with their 
decision. If and when I do hear anything on this I'll be sure to post 
it, for others to varify and act on.
