   You really should read the comp.sys.apple2 Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ) at http://www.visi.com/~nathan/a2/faq/csa2.html. It
covers all of this topic, including serial ports (the //e does not
have them by default; you'll have to add them), modem disks (see
section 10.2 for Steve Cavanaugh's $3 modem disk), and the like.
