Help: Data from Apple2 to PC
I need to transfer some data stored on an Apple2E to a DOS/Win platform.
The data is in the form of text file written on Bank Street Writer (?).
It is in a proprietary format, but I believe could be converted to plain
ASCII. The Apple doesn't have a modem. I understand that reading Apple
Disks on a PC is not feasible, so what now? I am not familiar with the
Apple, however I am quite familiar with PCs.
Possible solutions that I have thought of:
1. Send files via null modem cable to PC. What communications program
to use (on Apple)? Info on using Apple serial ports? Recommended Free
ware/ cheap shareware for comm program (and how to get it without a
modem! (I would think that this is the best solution)
2. Capture data from serial Apple Writer(?). Format of ACK's from
printer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Know of any Apple user groups in
the Denver, CO area?
