I apologise to the readers of this group for my mis-posting. Actually 
though it was one of those late night mistakes it was not a waste of time
since I received three helpful (and may I say courteous) replies, for
which thanks a lot.

I also learned a bit more about the Apple newsgroup hierarchy.

I understand the attachment for earlier computer technology having cut my
teeth on the BBC model B and Master computers. What is obsolete anyway?
Thousands of students over a ten year period were helped to learn English
using these machines. Does more complex, glitzy technology improve the
learning that takes place from using simple well designed programs that
both teachers and students can understand and relate to?
