sound woes

I am trying to upload sound files from website below.
Howeveer, they all arrive as TXT files. Is there a player
which would accept .AU text files?
 
I have the same problems with other sound/music files.
I licked the problem with .WAV files by using a TYPE.CHANGER
program which changes TXT files to BIN files.
However, the change to .SND files is not an option.
Any ideas?  Thanks.
