How to get a GS networked to a Mac via AppleShare?

All,

OK, I feel like this is a question I should already know about, but I
haven't had a need to know for years: Is it possible to get some sort
of very basic network connection between a Mac (IIfx, in this case)
running System 7.5.5 with a ROM01 Apple IIGS?

I'm just looking to do a basic file exchange over a cable here. I
don't care if only the GS can see the Mac hard drive, or if only the
Mac can see the GS's hard drive (but two way connections would be
nice), and I'm not looking for the GS to boot of the Mac, and I'm not
looking for printer sharing. What I would like is to have the Mac
running basic System 7.5.5, and the GS running a modern (heh) version
of GS/OS.

What sort of hardware connection or cable would I need for this? Is it
even possible? Is there a FAQ or something that covers this? I haven't
seen one.
