Can you be more specific than that?

I am not aware of any special features offered by ProDOS-16, up to
version 1.5 (System 3.2), that could not have been implemented using a
shell around the ProDOS-8 kernel.

I only have release notes going back to System 3.1 (ProDOS-16 1.3), so I
don't know if there were any major changes prior to this point.

At the very least, ProDOS-16 makes use of the same driver interface
mechanisms as ProDOS-8, so the RamFast's remapping scheme would apply to
ProDOS-16 in the same manner as ProDOS-8.

System 4.0 included GS/OS, which was a complete rewrite of the operating
system. I am certainly not claiming that GS/OS is the same thing as
ProDOS-16, or that GS/OS is a shell around ProDOS-8.
