Re: What's in the Desktop file in /Icons?
The Desktop file contains rBundles, rVersions, rIcons, and pathnames for
Finder's benefit. I don't think it contains window positions or sizes; as
far as I know, those are still kept in Finder.Data droppings.
For example, when you launch Spectrum for the first time (from Finder) it
places a boatload of icons into the Desktop file so the various Spectrum
related files will look pretty. This sort of takes the place of having a
separate Spectrum.Icons file in your Icons folder.
