The latest system software for the GS requires at least 1.25MB of
RAM to run most stuff and at least a 3.5" disk; HD and 1.5-2MB RAM
preferrable. This GS seems like an absolute basic system that will
not be able to run GS/OS without upgrades.
That being said, you can still run a fair amount of software that
isn't GS-specific on it. Reading all of the comp.sys.apple2 FAQ (at
http://www.visi.com/~nathan/a2/fa2q/csa2.html if you didn't save
yesterday's posting) details how to get a modem disk (section #87)
and then how (question #31-41) and where (#30) to find more software.
This'll let you download files and run them on your GS.
In section #87, there are also listings for a few dealers that have
educational software that you may want to call and request catalogs
from. Basically, most everything that works on a //e will run on a
minimal GS. Should you have the desire and cash, you'll also find
references to dealers that can sell HDs, color monitors and the like.
