I've been successfully transferring from my IIgs to my PC at 57600, and I'm not sure why I shouldn't be
able to use 115,200 except for the fact that the comm software on the IIgs doesn't go that high! Never has
D/L'ing software on an Apple II been so fast... How I wish I'd had 57,600 in 1982!!

Actually, modem-to-modem IS that simple, no simulators or wacky hardware necessary! (It's also cheaper and
easier than null modeming as long as you already have the two modems!) Connect a phone line from Line jack
to Line jack. Set one modem to "blind dial" (no check for dialtone or busy, usually an "ATX1" command
works) and issue an "atd" command. On the other modem, issue an "ata" command. POOF!! Instant connection.
Just remember that this style of connection will be slower than a null-modem serial connection.
