There are basically three types of HDs:
1) Old internal drives which have usually their own power supplies.
You will need to exchange the 'brick' in order to use them.
Examples are Applied Engineerings Vulcan or the Applied Ingenuity
drive.
2) External SCSI hard disks, you have mentioned them.
3) Hard cards. These little wonders are small HDs on a card which fit
into one of the expansion slots and require no SCSI card or Power
supply. Check http://www.allelec.com/ for more info about them.
