i remember reading this site http://www.maricondo.org/ and a few
others like it about using a TV as the IIgs's monitor.
A standard def TV will improve the dithering effect by alot vs using a
HDTV or LCD monitor, but the text i am seeing looks like crap when
compared to the text on a HDTV or LCD monitor (sometimes not
readable). I'm using a 21" SONY trinitron by using the composite
input, it does have a RGB component and S-video input but no way for
me to use them for the IIgs right now.
you could see about trying a CRT based monitor that has a lower native
resolution 640x480 which should improve things even more when you set
the board at the same setting. doing that could make it close to
around what i am seeing when it comes to dithering but have allot
better looking text then what i see. That board will help out allot
with the text being displayed but could hinder the dithering effect
used on the IIgs to make most of its colors.
i do know that sometimes (depends on the hardware used) the closer
that you can get the monitor to the real IIgs resolution output the
better the dithering effect will be.
