Go to Radio Shack and get a can of "Super Cool, extra fast circuit
cooler," or whatever they sell these days. Make sure it has a plastic
straw so you can dirct the cool at specific components.

You are pretty lucky since the problem happens with the top off so all
you have to do is wait for the Zip to freeze up (freeze up from heat,
is that an oxy-whatever?), and then spray the super cool on different
parts of the Zip until it works again.
