Yes.  They made the Apple ColorMonitor (there were //c and //e
versions--identical, except one was white, and the other, brown).
They also made a big, heavy, motorized RGB screen called (I think) the
AppleColor 100.

The motorized RGB monitor is the only one that requires a card.  I

I have a Commodore 1701, and it works great (80 columns looks blurrier
than on a good monitor, but it's still better than a crappy monitor).
Use the front plugs most of the time.  For monochrome, just flip the
switch on the back, and plug into the Luma jack.

For additional fun, get another cord and adapter, and plug the
cassette out port to the monitor's Audio In port.

You can plug an Apple //-series computer into just about anywhere you
see "Video In", like on VCRs.
