Yes, an //c external floppy can be used (and has been used in my setup)
with a IIGS.
Are you sure your floppy is from a third party? My floppy is an orginal
Apple product although it doesn't have an Apple logo on it. It has this
typical //c design with the slash-like access indicator at the front.
It looks like the IIGS' power up indicator at the right front side.
