   Yes. Modems existed for Apples before the average system had 64K
or 2 disks. :)

   The fastest internal modem for an Apple II was at 2400 baud. With
a Super Serial Card and an external modem, 9600 (reliable) or 19200
(iffy) is possible. The Turbo ASP addon to Super Serial Cards lets you
go faster, but if your //e doesn't have a speed accelerator card/chip,
it won't be able to display fast enough.

   No native Apple II telnet/ftp programs exist. They're being worked
on for the GS only to my knowledge. Dial up to an internet service
provider and use _their_ telnet and ftp over vt100.
