Re: Apple II+ Help
Well, I think I figured out part of my problem. The chip that goes in the board
on the spot marked 9334 is missing on one computer, the one that gives the random
characters, and the other computer, now that I've taken out the chip briefly and
put it back in, doesn't work either. Same problem as the other computer, but the
disk drive does still work, and pushing reset stops it. The only thing wrong (I
think)is the video display, probably something I did to the chip. When I turned
the computer on, for only a very brief time (less than a minute) to test the
display, then turned it off again and tried to remove the chip again (to see if it
was just in wrong) it was too hot to touch. That's one of the reasons I'm pretty
sure that's part of my problem. Um, let's see...what else? The computers are both
II+'s with the max amount of RAM, and one of them has a keyboard adapter for lower
case (I think). I'm afraid I know very little about the inner-workings of computers,
so even though I know what I have I don't know much about it. Thanks again for your
help. :)
