What if all you've got is a shell account? If it's up to all the
readers to have perfect newsreaders, why don't we just give up all the
various margin traditions? (NOT a suggestion)

While I don't agree with most of your reasons, I do think that, for
the most part, the Apple // groups should not unify. If I was an
authority, I would probably create MORE groups, myself...
