Re: csa2 unification

 Nathan amused me:

    | It takes a second or so for me to swap newsgroups; if your
    | newsreader makes it painful to read multiple groups, maybe you
    | should consider an upgrade.

Such as 2qwk! 2.03... hehe! (Rubywand: I'll write you that article as
soon as Tom puts out an upgrade with the Installer *fixed*. The program
works fine, but the PREFS file the Install creates is bad, so new users
wind up having to find 2.01, run it, then drop in 2.03 to get going.)

NC(| Most newbies (except for the idiots who can't tell the
    | difference between 'apple2' and 'mac' when spelling) are in the
    | right place. It's no big deal to give them the clue or tell them
    | to read the FAQ.

We see those folks all the time on Fidonet's Apple echo (and Barry
vigilantly says "this is Apple, down the hall is Mac"). Sheesh, I work
with one, who is a PC tech even. Couldn't boot the System 6.0.1 disk he
asked for because, duh, he's got a basement full of Macs. (And he wants
me to try to sell one at tonight's Apple II User Group meeting -- yeah,
that'll go over like a lead balloon. Maybe the 3.5" ext drive...)

NC(| Heck, why don't we unify all of usenet into one group while
    | we're at it. I think newbies would _LOVE_ to learn about the
    | programming of unix boxes, how to feed their pet goldfish, and get
    | a few pictures all at once. With such volume, none of them would
    | ever want to post, which would save us all the trouble of dealing
    | with them or their getting a clue. :)

So why hasn't this changed anything in alt.atari.2600, where precisely
that (and a dozen spams/ads per day) takes place? :)

                                                        << mushroom >>
