looking in mine, it appears that a standard apple3.5 might fit if the
case is removed. but you'd have to create a suitable faceplate with
support for the led and the eject button.

as rubywand suggested, nylon spacers can be used. i marked every hole
in the gs motherboard thru to the metal sheet the motherboard was to
mounted to. then i drilled a suitable hole size and pushed in quick
snap style nylon mounts and carefully pressed the motherboard on them.
a pc assembly shop should be able to give you a handful of these very
convenient little plastic bits.
